If you're like me, you can relate to endless late nights desperately trying to finish tasks for class, work, or personal life after hours, days, or weeks of putting it off. If you're like me, you put off those tasks by saying "It'll eventually get done" or "I'll do it later." If you're like me, you are a procrastinator.
I have been this way since I could remember. I would stay up long nights throughout middle school, high school, and more often in college. Combine procrastination with being a stoner... I would have to push myself to get anything done, or rely on my friends/mother for motivation. This is when I needed to apply self-awareness. I needed to find an effective solution to be more productive self-sufficiently. I figured out that I needed to plan ahead.
This is what I sought for this blog: finding ways of becoming and helping others become more productive, all while indulging in the medical and recreational benefits of CBD and THC.
the bullet journal.
The one thing that has helped me most of all with productivity is the handy-dandy bullet journal. If you have absolutely no idea what a bullet journal is (like I did at first) it's simple. It's a journal used to keep track of your tasks and events; a documented and systematic way of staying organized. Having everything written out in a document makes it easier to know what you have to do and when you have to do it, instead of keeping it rattling around in your brain and eventually forgetting.
A bullet journal can be as complex or simple as you want it to be. You can choose to create a minimalist journal, only the basics, a few decorations and color. Or you can choose to create an artsy-fartsy journal, with lots of color, decoration, and various different spreads.
I choose to make my bullet journal very artsy as I am generally an artistic person and love to see my pages come to life.
When I create my journal, I separate two different sections. A planning section and a personal section. My personal section has been lacking these last six months due to my move from a different state. However, I dedicate this section to spreads that are more personal and applies to the whole year, rather than planning oriented. This can include:
My planning section is where all the magic happens. I go into so much detail for this section. It can include:
Don't be discouraged when starting. It takes some time out of your day to plan and create. I set aside a time, usually Saturdays, after a good joint. It may turn out shitty and weird, but that's part of the fun! And over time, your growth will show and you'll come to rely on the journal in your daily life.
In one journal, I prefer to fit six months, that way I have more than enough pages for extra stuff. This is my second journal.
I'm letting you have a glimpse of my life and how I structure a month. For the month of November I had a falling leaves theme. I used a lot of oranges, reds, browns, and yellows. I usually draw the artwork (I find on Pinterest) as you can tell from the title. However for the rest of the month I wanted cleaner lines and more of a scrapbook feel, so I printed some coloring pages and scaled them.
